Maryville scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Savannah, 31-14. At the time, the Savages were ranked 18th in the state, while the Spoofhounds were 26th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Cameron, who took down 138th ranked Benton, 28-21. Colton Boyer ran for 110 yards in the win.
Cory Marmet and Cory Marmet gave Smithville a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Marmet threw for 77 yards and one touchdown, while Marmet ran for 143 yards. Teammate Zach Parmenter added to the ground attack by rushing for 117 yards.
Tyler Thrasher was the best wideout in Midland Empire this week as Bishop LeBlond fell to Lafayette. Thrasher tallied four receptions for 81 yards. Patrick Dillon helped Bishop LeBlond's passing attack out by catching two balls for 16 yards.
The Eagles' Matthew McCullough and Thrasher have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. McCullough has thrown for 941 yards this season, while Thrasher, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 33 catches for 578 yards. The Warriors' Parmenter leads the league in rushing yards with 1236.
Bishop LeBlond's Austin Dawkins is a mere 28 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Dawkins has rushed for 972 yards on 148 carries so far this year.
Boyer of the Dragons ran for the longest rushing play in the league this season against the Cardinals last week.
