Roanoke Rapids was led to victory by Bobby Hawkins and Darren Solomon. Hawkins scored ten points along with three steals, while Solomon scored 15 points. The contest was Solomon's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Shabazz, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Roanoke Rapids' victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for KIPP P, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roanoke Rapids won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southern Nash at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Southern Nash is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57 points per game. KIPP P will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wilson Prep at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. One thing working in Wilson Prep's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
