Elyria was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight  defeat  dating back to last season. They came up short against  the Vermilion Sailors, falling  3-0. The Pioneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sailors apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in August of 2024.
 Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-16,  25-18.
 Bella Sauer paced Elyria's offense, picking up five kills. Sauer got some help from  Camy Kelley and her 12 assists. Kelley was also solid from the service line:  she led the team with two aces.
 Vermilion found their leader in sophomore  Elyse Myntti, who  had ten  assists and three  aces.
Elyria's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Vermilion, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
 Elyria has  already played their next  contest (against Valley Forge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Vermilion, they have also already played their next matchup,  a  3-0  loss against Bellevue on the 9th.
