The Hoosac Valley Hurricanes and the Carver Crusaders squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Hoosac Valley Hurricanes had to settle for second. Hoosac Valley took a serious blow against Carver, falling 44-0. Hoosac Valley's loss signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.
Carver can attribute much of their success to Jameson Helms, who rushed for 91 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Tyler Lennox was another key contributor, throwing for 180 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes.
Hoosac Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 11-1. As for Carver, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-0.
Hoosac Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Carver will be playing in front of their home fans against Middleborough at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Middleborough is ranked 70th, while Carver is ranked 59th).
