Kimball has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Oakdale Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Kimball came up short against Manteca and fell 54-45. Kimball has struggled against Manteca recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Kimball had strong showings from Madhav Asija, who scored 16 points, and Osama Mirghani, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Tobe Nwankwo, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Oakdale pushed their score all the way to 61 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Enochs 67-61.
Kimball's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10. As for Oakdale, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Kimball against Oakdale in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 67-37 victory. With Kimball ahead 40-17 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
