Football Recap: Olympia Skates Past Pleasant Plains with Ease

Olympia won the last time they faced Pleasant Plains and things went their way on Friday too. The Spartans breezed past the Cardinals to the tune of 54-13. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won three matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Olympia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jimmy Lollar, who rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Lollar's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 130 rushing yards dating back to last season. Brendon Hardimon helped out on the ground, rushing for 94 yards and three rushing touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Olympia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 459 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 241 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Olympia's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Pleasant Plains, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Olympia has already played their next game, a 60-28 win against Auburn on the 24th. As for Pleasant Plains, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-7 defeat against Williamsville on the 24th.
