Columbus North is 4-0 against Rushville since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Columbus North Bull Dogs' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Rushville Lions at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Columbus North came up short against Bloomington North and fell 51-44.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Olivia Johnson, who scored 11 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Sydney Johnson was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Rushville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 47-37 to Connersville.
Despite their defeat, Rushville saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Carly Senour, who scored ten points along with two steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Leonie Boyer, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Columbus North now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Rushville, they bumped their record down to 7-15 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Wednesday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Columbus North have been dynamite from deep this season, having only nailed 35.3% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Rushville, though, as they've only nailed 30.4% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything went Columbus North's way against Rushville in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as Columbus North made off with a 59-35 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Rushville's Briley Munchel, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.
