The Heritage Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Regis Jesuit on the road and fell 79-47. Heritage was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-19.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trystan Rangel, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Jensen, who scored six points.
It was another big night for Damarius Taylor, who scored 32 points for Regis Jesuit. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taylor has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lucas Dickinson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.
Heritage's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Regis Jesuit, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Mountain Vista at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Averaging 65.28 points so far this season, Mountain Vista's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Heritage better be ready for a challenge. As for Regis Jesuit, they will head out on the road to take on Highlands Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Highlands Ranch is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64.9 points per game this season.
