III Section VII recap November 19, 2013
Desert Edge added to the longest winning streak in III Section VII this week by beating Shadow Ridge, 40-14. This was the team's 12th consecutive win.
The Stallions fell to Desert Edge 40-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Chris Salsberry was a bright spot for Shadow Ridge, as he ran for 228 yards in the defeat.
Kyle Doren made the biggest impact on defense this week as Rico Tipton's team fell to Rich Wellbrock's team. He grabbed 1 sack.
Salsberry was a force in the backfield as the Stallions lost to the Scorpions.
Anthony Hernandez threw for 341 yards and 5 touchdowns. He went 17-30 with 0 interceptions.
Roshaun Johnson was the best receiver in the league this week as Desert Edge beat Shadow Ridge. Johnson racked up 7 receptions for 111 yards. Jordan Jackson helped Desert Edge's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 100 yards.
The Scorpions' Hernandez and Elijah Marks have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-8 quarterback Hernandez has thrown for 4,180 yards this season, while Marks has 107 catches for 2,044 yards. Salsberry from the Stallions leads the league in rushing with 2,216 yards.

Desert Edge made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 327 from 428. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 40-14 victory over Shadow Ridge last week.
