Softball Game Preview: Glide Wildcats vs. Coquille Red Devils

Glide has gone a perfect 10-0 against Coquille recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. Glide is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Glide and Sutherlin, and Glide kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 4-1 on Friday.

Samantha Moyers made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lillian Lee was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Ella Weber, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Coquille came up short against Douglas on Friday, falling 16-1. The Red Devils haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Glide is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Coquille, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Glide got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Coquille by a conclusive 15-5 score. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
