The Wray Eagles entered their tilt with the Wiggins Tigers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Wray enjoyed a cozy 35-21 victory over Wiggins on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Wray, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Casey Midcap went supernova for Wray, rushing for 89 yards and a touchdown, while also catching a touchdown. Austin Collins was another key contributor, picking up 83 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Wiggins still got an impressive performance from Jayson Lousberg, who rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns. Lousberg is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played.
Even if they lost, Wiggins' defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Wray's QB was sacked three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Americo Lorenzini and his two sacks.
Wray's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Wiggins, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
Wray will square off against Centauri at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Centauri's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last six contests. Wiggins is on the road again on Saturday and play against Banning Lewis Academy at 1:00 p.m. on November 4th. Banning Lewis Academy will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
