The Smidt Tech Grey Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Alliance Bloomfield Bulls at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Smidt Tech is ranked 1253rd, while Alliance Bloomfield is ranked 1264th).
Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Smidt Tech beat Rise Kohyang 46-41. The win made it back-to-back wins for Smidt Tech.
Smidt Tech found their leader in underclassman Zachary Ignacio, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Merlos, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Alliance Bloomfield's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by University Prep Value on the road and fell 69-29. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alliance Bloomfield in their matchups with University Prep Value: they've now lost five in a row.
Smidt Tech is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for Alliance Bloomfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Smidt Tech came up short against Alliance Bloomfield in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 39-29. Can Smidt Tech avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
