The La Grange Leopards are on the road again on Friday and play against the Madisonville Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. La Grange will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 686th, while Madisonville is ranked 186th).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-17, which was the final score in La Grange's tilt against Cuero on Friday. La Grange has not had much luck with Cuero recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Madisonville stacked a fifth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Salado at home to the tune of 56-14.
Madisonville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ty Williams, who threw for 271 yards and two touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes. Lorenzo Johnson was in the mix too, providing Madisonville with two touchdowns.
Cuero's victory bumped their season record to 10-0 while La Grange's defeat dropped theirs to 3-7.
La Grange suffered a grim 41-21 defeat to Madisonville in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can La Grange avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
