After flying high against Golden Valley on Tuesday, Justin Garza came back down to earth. The Guardians took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rio Linda Knights on Tuesday. The Guardians' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Harmony Cook was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Justin Garza's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Rio Linda, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Justin Garza and Rio Linda could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Guardians (ranked 335th) will meet Bullard (ranked 70th) at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Rio Linda will challenge Destiny Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (289 vs. 48).
