Pace Academy is 3-0 against Hampton since December of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Pace Academy Knights will head out on the road to take on the Hampton Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Pace Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Hampton likes a good challenge.
Last Saturday, Pace Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Pebblebrook, taking the game 63-54. Given Pace Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Pebblebrook is ranked 111th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pace Academy relied on the efforts of Lamar Moore, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds, and MJ Madison, who scored 16 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Madison has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Greene, who scored nine points along with five assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Hampton's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They walked away with a 51-44 victory over Luella.
Pace Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Hampton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13.
Everything came up roses for Pace Academy against Hampton when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 86-52 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pace Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
