For Watchung Hills Regional, this counts as revenge for the 49-48 loss Phillipsburg walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Phillipsburg's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matthew Scerbo Jr., who scored 17 points along with five assists. Ameer Herran was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and four blocks.
Watchung Hills Regional's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Phillipsburg, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 0-1.
