The Central Mountain Wildcats won the last time they faced the Milton Black Panthers, and things went their way on Friday too. Central Mountain walked away with a 62-50 win over Milton. Given Central Mountain's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Milton is ranked 510th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Central Mountain was led to victory by Hunter Hoy and Xaiver Persun. Hoy scored 12 points along with five steals, while Persun scored 14 points. The contest was Hoy's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Brady Myers was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Central Mountain pushed their record up to 8-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points per game. As for Milton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Mountain will square off against Shamokin Area at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Milton, they will head out on the road to face off against Jersey Shore at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
