The Jefferson Area Falcons lost against the Edgewood Warriors back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Jefferson Area fell 57-45 to Edgewood. While losing is never fun, Jefferson Area can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 452nd, while Edgewood is ranked 65th).
It was another big night for Katie Mccollister, who scored 24 points along with four steals for Edgewood. The game was Mccollister's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Annie mae Johnston was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six steals and five assists.
Jefferson Area's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-5. As for Edgewood, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson Area will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Harvey at 6:45 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Edgewood will be home for the holidays to greet Pymatuning Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
