The Resurrection Christian Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Berthoud Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Resurrection Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Berthoud likes a good challenge.
Last Saturday, Resurrection Christian faced Lutheran in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Resurrection Christian fell to Lutheran 70-64. The loss put an end to Resurrection Christian's undefeated start to the season.
Despite their loss, Resurrection Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ty Yoder, who scored 19 points, was perhaps the best of all. Yoder hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Marcus Phillips was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Berthoud beat The Classical Academy 53-46 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Berthoud.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Berthoud to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryan Callies, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Stratmeyer, who scored 11 points.

Keep an eye on the arc in Thursday's game: Resurrection Christian have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 6.2 threes per game. It's a different story for Berthoud, though, as they've been averaging only 6.2 threes per game. Given Resurrection Christian's sizeable advantage in that area, Berthoud will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything went Resurrection Christian's way against Berthoud in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as Resurrection Christian made off with a 72-47 win. Will Resurrection Christian repeat their success, or does Berthoud have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
