The BridgePrep Village Green Bulldogs came tearing into Wednesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Archimedean 89-40 at home. BridgePrep Village Green might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five matchups by 31 points or more this season.
Despite the loss, Archimedean still got an impressive performance from Joseph Vega, who scored 19 points. Vega scored a full 47.5% of Archimedean's points, the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ryan Buchillon was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Archimedean struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
BridgePrep Village Green pushed their record up to 6-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.2 points per game. As for Archimedean, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
BridgePrep Village Green will head out on the road to face off against Westland Hialeah at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Archimedean, they will be playing at home against Horeb Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Jonathan Gonzalez and Vega.
