Poway will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Olympian in at Poway HS at 4:30 PM. Olympian will be strutting in after a win while Poway will be stumbling in from a loss.
Poway had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 7-30 walloping at Granite Hills hands.
Olympian had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They steamrollered Santa Fe Christian 40-0. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 20-0.
Poway's defeat took them down to 0-1 while Olympian's victory pulled them up to write [team] current record. A win for Poway would reverse both their bad luck and Olympian's good luck. We'll see if Poway manages to pull off that tough task or if Olympian keeps their momentum going instead.
