It was a good run, but Stratford unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 54-35 bruising from the Cypress Falls Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 485th, while the Eagles are ranked 94th).

Stratford's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 12-8. As for Cypress Falls, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stratford will venture away from home to take on Cypress Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cypress Falls, they will head out on the road to challenge Cy-Fair at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cypress Falls will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
