Lehi is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Skyridge is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Pioneers will host the Falcons at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Lehi is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Pleasant Grove, who was ranked 16th at the time (Lehi was ranked 12th). The Pioneers were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Vikings on Tuesday. Considering the Pioneers have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Abbi Harroun spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Piper Emery and Sophie Bliss did most of the damage at the plate: Emery went 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Bliss went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Bliss has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last four times she's played. Hadlie Hansen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Skyridge made easy work of American Fork on Tuesday and carried off a 12-6 victory.
Skyridge got a massive performance out of Mia Hess, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave Hess a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylie Power, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Skyridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as American Fork only posted an OBP of .323.
Lehi has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Skyridge, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-13.
Everything went Lehi's way against Skyridge when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Lehi made off with a 9-0 win. Will the Pioneers repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
