Basketball Recap: MAYSON THOMAS and PARKER GOLSCH Secure Win for Pieper

Boerne-Champion typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Pieper proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 61-49 victory over the Boerne-Champion Chargers. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Chargers back in December of 2024, they had to take a 52-45 loss.

Pieper was led to victory by PARKER GOLSCH and MAYSON THOMAS. GOLSCH went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points, while THOMAS posted 17 points along with five assists and five boards. GOLSCH's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of PORTER JENSEN, who scored six points.

Boerne-Champion's loss came despite strong showings from Gavin Peck and Logan Scott. Peck went 9 of 18 on his way to 24 points and five rebounds, while Scott went 5 for 11 en route to 13 points and three steals. Kane Lonsdale also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Pieper has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Boerne-Champion, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 21-9.

Pieper wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 59-49 win against Alamo Heights on the 28th. Boerne-Champion has also already played their next game, a 66-59 defeat against New Braunfels on the 28th.
