Locust Fork is 2-7 against the Eagles since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Locust Fork Hornets will head out on the road to take on the Cold Springs Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Locust Fork is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
Locust Fork can now show off 16 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Southeastern 59-35. Given Locust Fork's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Mustangs are ranked 254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Faith Evans, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Emma Adams, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cold Springs unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak last Thursday. They lost to West Point on the road by a decisive 57-38 margin.
Locust Fork has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Cold Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-4.
Locust Fork came up short against the Eagles in their previous matchup back in January, falling 58-45. Can Locust Fork avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
