Chase Pacheco was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of St. David's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-8-1 when he doesn't). Jaxson Brogan was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: St. David kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mogollon, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They put the hurt on Baboquivari with a sharp 11-1 win on Saturday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.
Rocky Porter made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, Yoyo Suarez was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Slade Reynolds, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
St. David's record now sits at 12-8-1. As for Mogollon, their record is now 19-6.
St. David came up short against Mogollon in their previous meeting back in March, falling 8-4. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
