John Marshall has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Steward Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, John Marshall beat Richmond 84-78. Given John Marshall's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked tenth in Virginia, while Richmond is ranked 54th in North Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Latrell Allmond and Aiden Argabright were among the main playmakers for John Marshall as the former scored 22 points along with 5 rebounds and the latter scored 23 points along with 5 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Argabright has scored at least 25% of John Marshall's points. Another player making a difference was Damon Thompson Jr, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Steward entered their tilt with Monacan with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Steward snuck past Monacan with a 62-58 victory on Friday.
John Marshall now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Steward, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
