The North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They came out on top against Western Boone by a score of 51-38. That result was just more of the same for these two, as North Montgomery also won the last time the pair played on January 6th.
North Montgomery's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron Enlow, who scored 14 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Enlow grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Kelby Harwood, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Several Stars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quinn Westerfeld, who scored ten points. Tristyn Faulk was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and four steals.
North Montgomery's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Western Boone, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
North Montgomery's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Clinton Prairie at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st. Clinton Prairie presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than North Montgomery in Indiana (Clinton Prairie is ranked 103rd, while North Montgomery is ranked 334th). As for Western Boone, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Seeger at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th. Hopefully Seeger focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
