Having just played yesterday, the Panther Creek Catamounts will get right back to it and host the Rockdale County Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on December 22nd. Panther Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Rockdale County likes a good challenge.
On Thursday, it was close, but Panther Creek ultimately received the gift of a 55-52 win from a begrudging Catamountssquad. Despite the win, that was the fewest points they have scored all year.
Panther Creek's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zy'vaun Puckett, who scored 17 points. The match was Puckett's third in a row with at least ten points. Chris Uwayo was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Meanwhile, Rockdale County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 56-36 defeat at the hands of Independence. While losing is never fun, Rockdale County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 291st in Georgia, while Independence is ranked 84th in North Carolina).
Panther Creek is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Rockdale County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
