The Washburn Millers lost against the Roosevelt Teddies back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Washburn fell 47-36 to Roosevelt. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Washburn in their matchups with Roosevelt: they've now lost five in a row.
It was another big night for Olivia Wren, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds for Roosevelt. Wren also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Cady Davis, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Washburn now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Roosevelt, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washburn will take on Mound-Westonka at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Roosevelt, they will head out on the road to square off against Richfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
