Softball Recap: St. Francis Drops Highest Score of Season Against St. Edward

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Francis). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the St. Edward Green Wave a 15-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

St. Francis' victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for St. Edward, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Francis will venture away from home to challenge Saint Ignatius College Prep at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolfpack have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for St. Edward, they will head out on the road to take on Lisle at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something the Green Wave will no doubt try to take advantage of.
