Softball Recap: Crowley Wins Going Away Against Gueydan

While Crowley put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Gueydan. The Crowley Gent put the hurt on the Gueydan Bears with a sharp 19-0 win. Considering the Gent have won five matchups by more than ten runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Erika Hebert made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up a single walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Emma Craedur was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zailey Smith, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Crowley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Crowley's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Gueydan, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crowley will challenge Westminster Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gueydan, they will face off against Hathaway at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
