After flying high against the BASIS Phoenix Firebirds last Tuesday, the Glendale Prep Academy Griffins came back down to earth. Glendale Prep Academy took a serious blow against Rancho Solano Prep on Thursday, falling 68-38. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Glendale Prep Academy in their matchups with Rancho Solano Prep: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Glendale Prep Academy saw an underclassman step up: Daniel Andersen scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Andersen has scored all season. Esteban Arellano was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Glendale Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Rancho Solano Prep, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glendale Prep Academy will take on Phoenix Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Phoenix Christian will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak. As for Rancho Solano Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Phoenix Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Phoenix Country Day is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
