Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Los Molinos Bulldogs walked away with it. They walked away with a 41-34 victory over Fall River on Friday. Winning may never get old, but Los Molinos sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Los Molinos' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Harrison Hamre led the charge by rushing for 112 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also picking up 125 receiving yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Ty Walker, who threw for 230 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes.
Fall River's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Abe Estes, who rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns. Carter Kroschel was another key contributor, gaining 204 total yards and a touchdown.
Los Molinos' victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Fall River, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Los Molinos will head out on the road to face off against Portola at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Portola is on a five-game streak of home wins, Los Molinos a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. Fall River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
