Uvalde is on a five-game streak of home losses, Hondo a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) will take on the Hondo Owls at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Texas (Uvalde is ranked 718th, while Hondo is ranked 734th).
After soaring to seven goals the game before, Uvalde were a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 4-1 loss at the hands of Pleasanton.
Uvalde's goal came courtesy of
Samuel Haughey, which was the first he's scored this season.
Meanwhile, after a 6-2 finish the last time they played, Hondo and Pearsall decided to play a little more cautiously this time around. Hondo never let Pearsall onto the board and left with a 2-0 win on Friday. The win was just what Hondo needed coming off of a 5-1 defeat in their prior contest.
Uvalde has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8-2 record this season. As for Hondo, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6-2.
Uvalde took their win against Hondo in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Uvalde repeat their success, or does Hondo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
