Lee is 0-10 against Ridgeview since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lee Generals will head out on the road to face off against the Ridgeview Wolfpack at 7:30 p.m. Lee will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 311th, while Ridgeview is ranked 32nd).
Lee pushed their score all the way to 67 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 81-67 fall against Abingdon. Even though they lost, Lee's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.5 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
The losing side was boosted by Cassidy Hammonds, who scored 23 points along with four steals. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Bailie Hughes, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Ridgeview waltzed into their game Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past John Battle 59-14 on the road. Fans of Ridgeview have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Lee's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Ridgeview, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
Lee took a serious blow against Ridgeview in their previous meeting back in January, falling 57-11. Can Lee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
