The Acadiana Rams lost against the St. Martinville Tigers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Acadiana took a 45-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Martinville. Acadiana has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
St. Martinville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Delian Mallery led the charge by scoring 13 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Myri Bernard, who scored 12 points.
Acadiana has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for St. Martinville, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-14.
Acadiana will challenge Lafayette at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lafayette presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Acadiana in Louisiana (Lafayette is ranked 23rd, while Acadiana is ranked 133rd). As for St. Martinville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Central at 7:00 p.m.
