Baseball Recap: Hancock Takes a Loss

Hancock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 10-4 to the Southern Rams.

Logan Hendershot put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for Hancock: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, Tyler Clingerman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

Hancock's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Southern, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6.

Hancock wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against Northern Garrett on the 28th. As for Southern, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 27-0 victory against Tucker County on the 29th.
