The Sheldon Huskies will face off against the Whitney Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Sheldon 2.9, Whitney 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Wednesday, Sheldon was able to grind out a solid win over Laguna Creek, taking the game 5-2. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Micah Kennedy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Miyani Marshall was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Regan Wise, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Sheldon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Whitney, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over Davis Sr. on Wednesday.
Whitney also got a great performance from Taylor Cordell as she struck out ten batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rebecca Rau, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Sidney Kleiner was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Whitney is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Sheldon, they pushed their record up to 16-6-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Sheldon hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Whitney struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down. Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
