The Valley View Eagles will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Paloma Valley Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on December 29th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Wednesday, Valley View lost to Great Oak on the road by a decisive 62-46 margin. While losing is never fun, Valley View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 520th, while Great Oak is ranked 177th).
Despite their loss, Valley View saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Cassius Wrisley, who scored four points, was perhaps the best of all. Jabril Jones was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Paloma Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 86-45 defeat at the hands of Great Oak. Paloma Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 59-22.
Valley View now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Paloma Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Everything came up roses for Valley View against Paloma Valley when the teams last played back in December of 2021 as the squad secured a 83-48 victory. Will Valley View repeat their success, or does Paloma Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
