Baseball Recap: Arrupe Jesuit Comes Up Short

Arrupe Jesuit lost against Middle Park back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Generals came up short against the Panthers, falling 9-1.

Dennis Godoy was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Godoy wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gerardo Saucedo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Saucedo is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another was Adrian Rojas Ramirez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Arrupe Jesuit's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Middle Park, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arrupe Jesuit will challenge Clear Creek at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Middle Park, they will take on Moffat County at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
