Sierra Delta League recap October 8, 2013
Bradshaw Christian was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to second in Sierra Delta League. Earlier in the week, the The Pride triumphed over Rio Vista 50-26.
Golden Sierra scaled the state rankings by moving to 860 from 896 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Grizzlies climbed the ranks as a result of besting Vacaville Christian 35-14.
Bradshaw Christian's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kevin Williams threw for 169 and 3 touchdowns and Kyle Betts had 105 yards receiving. On the ground Grant Dragmire contributed 209 yards. Grant Heisinger helped Bradshaw Christian's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 38 yards.
He went 9-14 with 0 interceptions.
Dragmire provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Drew Rickert's team topped the Rams. Dragmire's key target this week was Betts, who caught 6 passes for 105 yards.
Dragmire was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 209 yards on 24 carries as the The Pride beat Rio Vista. Jakobe Hawkins also contributed to the rushing game with 124 yards on the ground.
Bradshaw Christian's offense cannot be tamed this season and the The Pride feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Williams has thrown for 1,113 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Betts has 30 catches for 689 yards.
An important game coming up in Sierra Delta League this week will be when Cliff Malta's team takes on Encina Prep. The Rams are currently in first, while the Bulldogs are in fifth.
Rio Vista fell to Bradshaw Christian 50-26 last week, the largest margin of any game.
