Despite the defeat, Timpanogos had strong showings from Rachel Vance, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds, and Georgia King, who scored six points. King also grabbed two steals for the first time this season.
Leading Cedar Valley to victory were Hadley Whiting and Olivia Kaaihue. Whiting scored 12 points along with five steals, while Kaaihue scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five steals. The matchup was Kaaihue's third in a row with at least ten points. Breeann Turner was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Timpanogos' loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.0 points per game. As for Cedar Valley, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.
Timpanogos will head out on the road to face off against Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brighton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Timpanogos in Utah (Brighton is ranked 19th, while Timpanogos is ranked 96th). Cedar Valley will take on Durango in a holiday battle at 8:20 p.m. on Monday at. Durango is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
