The West Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Foothill Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 32.5 points per game this season.
If West beats Foothill with 28 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Vikings took down South 28-12 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Solomon Harris continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 201 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 101 yards and one TD on only seven passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of West's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Diego Tello also deserves some recognition as he posted his first receiving yards of the season.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: West was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 255 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 202 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Foothill posted their closest victory since October 18, 2024 on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Mira Monte, sneaking past 36-33. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.
Foothill's win came from a few key players West will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ismael Ramirez, who threw for 161 yards and three touchdowns. Foothill also got a significant boost from Martin Velasquez, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.
Foothill didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Cash McAfee.
West's record is now 4-2. As for Foothill, their record now sits at an identical 4-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. West has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 273.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Foothill struggles in that department as they've been averaging 235.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
West beat Foothill 20-7 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
