The Eastwood Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Perkins Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Perkins will be up against a hot Eastwood team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Eagles' way against Genoa Area on Wednesday as they made off with an 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kadyn Donnell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Donnell was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colton Woodward, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Norton, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Eastwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Perkins, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against Clyde on Wednesday as they made off with a 13-6 victory. The Pirates have beaten the Fliers the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Fliers has come to flipping the script.
Sam Schweinfurth made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Perkins let Talon Walton and Blake Parker run wild. Walton went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs, while Parker got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Mason Souter, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Perkins' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Eastwood, their record now sits at 9-2.
Eastwood beat Perkins 5-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
