The Cross Schools Stingrays had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their match at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 69-19 win over Varsity Opponent. The victory was just what Cross Schools needed coming off of a 76-27 loss in their prior contest.
Cross Schools found their leader in underclassman CJ Champion, who scored 13 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Quintin Beasley, who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 steals.
Cross Schools' victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Varsity Opponent, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 16 of their last 17 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 51-239-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cross Schools will take on Holy Trinity Classical Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to face off against Mt. Pleasant at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
