The Norwalk Truckers were the 58-46 winner over the Clyde Fliers when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Norwalk took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fliers on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Norwalk came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Fliers are ranked 545th).
Clyde's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brennen Wilson, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Cedric Messer, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Norwalk's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Clyde, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norwalk will take on the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Madison Comprehensive has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8. As for Clyde, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. Huron is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
