The Atlanta Hornets will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Novinger Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Atlanta has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 261 points over their last four contests.
Last Tuesday, Atlanta didn't have too much trouble with Marshall on the road as they won 57-42. Given Atlanta's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Marshall is ranked 389th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Novinger's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Green City, falling 77-27. Novinger was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-9.
Atlanta pushed their record up to 7-2 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points per game. As for Novinger, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
Atlanta was able to grind out a solid win over Novinger in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, winning 66-55. The rematch might be a little tougher for Atlanta since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
