The Lutheran Knights will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Heritage Christian Academy Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Lutheran narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Marksmen 38-36.
Meanwhile, Heritage Christian Academy waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They blew past Northland Christian, posting a 60-19 win at home. Heritage Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 26 points or more this season.
Heritage Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caelyn Ferguson led the charge by scoring 18 points. Ferguson is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 17 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Haley Sachau, who scored 12 points along with six steals.
The win got Lutheran back to even at 2-2. As for Heritage Christian Academy, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2.
Things could have been worse for Lutheran, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-27 loss to the Chargers in their previous matchup back in January of 2022. Can Lutheran avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
