The Becker Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 101-88 to St. Anthony Village. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (77), Becker still had to take the loss.
Despite the defeat, Becker had strong showings from Sawyer Brown, who scored 23 points along with five assists, and Kyan Blomquist, who scored 29 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blomquist has scored all season. Nathan Weiss was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds.
Becker's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-8. As for St. Anthony Village, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-7.
Becker will head out on the road to square off against St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Francis and Becker are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for St. Anthony Village, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Columbia Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Columbia Heights' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
